Dr. James Strasburg

Welcome to my personal site!

I am a historian, teacher, and author interested in modern public theology—Christian thought and practice in support of democracy and the common good.

My work has been featured in The New York Times, the Washington Post, and Christianity Today, and my first book—God's Marshall Plan—appeared in 2021 with Oxford University Press.

Presently, I am writing Heavenly Exchange—a new history of American political economy and religion.
